Grid Computing Technology
This paper presents the grid computing technology, the recent developments in this field. The idea of grid computing has its origins in the early development of computer networks and technologies involved, given that CPU cycle use "free" or "unused" was seen as an optimal and cost-effective way to use all capabilities of the hardware resources which were very expensive machinery.
متن کاملGrid Technology for Biomedical Applications
The deployment of biomedical applications in a grid environment has started about three years ago in several European projects and national initiatives. These applications have demonstrated that the grid paradigm was relevant to the needs of the biomedical community. They have also highlighted that this community had very specific requirements on middleware and needed further structuring in lar...
متن کاملAdaptive Grid Computing for Mpi Applications
Our objective is to provide location-, topology-, and administrative-transparent grid computing for MPI applications, while hiding the physical details of computing platforms and heterogeneous networks from the application developers and users. To achieve this objective, we introduced a new resource allocation model, workflow structures to specify MPI applications involving multiple tasks, and ...
متن کاملCommercial Applications of Grid Computing
This paper provides an overview of commercial applications of Grid computing. We discuss Web performance and present a Grid caching architecture. Our Grid caching architecture o oads requests to Grid caches when Web servers become overloaded. We describe performance and traÆc modeling techniques which can enhance Grid applications such as caching. We also discuss how Grid computing can be appli...
